Introduction
What is Jikiden Reiki?
Jikiden Reiki is a simple, natural and safe Japanese healing technique that works with the body's own natural ability to restore balance. The word Jikiden means "directly passed down" — this is Reiki as it was originally taught in Japan, free from Western additions. As a Jikiden Reiki practitioner, I work holistically with my clients to support their physical and emotional wellbeing.
What happens in a session?
You will lie fully clothed on a comfortable treatment couch and relax while I gently place my hands on or near different areas of your body. There is no massage or manipulation — just a calming, soothing experience. Many people feel warmth or gentle tingling, and most find the whole process deeply relaxing and restorative.
How long is a Reiki session?
A session lasts approximately one hour and a half, giving your body time to settle and receive the full benefit of the treatment.
How often do I need Reiki?
You will generally experience some immediate benefits from a single session. However, I recommend a course of sessions for a fuller and continued recovery. Regular sessions are excellent for maintaining your general wellbeing and managing the effects of everyday stress.
